Make a solution of sugar water by combining 1/2 teaspoon sugar with 1 1/2 oz warm water. Put sugar water, rose water, vodka, and cardamom essence into a martini shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously, then strain into a martini glass. Float rose petals on the top. Cardamom essence is getting hard to come by. Your local health food store or co-op will probably have it. It's expensive but worth it, not just for this drink, but in all sorts of applications. I add a few drops of it too basmati rice when I cook it, or to various indian dishes.
